‘Love fest’ – Dance raises money to help preserve Fairfield library
A unique Valentine's Day celebration in Fairfield had residents showing a little love for their local library.
Over 100 people packed the Pequot Library in Southport for its Head Over Heels Valentine's Day dance.
Local students performed in the 'School of Rock Band,' while attendees enjoyed food and dessert donated from area restaurants.
“It’s a love fest for Pequot Library,” said Stephanie Coakley, library director.  “Everyone loves the library from the bunny in the children's library to all of our author talks, our music programs, our collection of books and as you can see it’s a beloved institution.”
The party served as a fundraiser to help preserve the library's historic building.
