Prosecutors have filed additional charges in connection with a fatal boating accident that happened in New Fairfield last August.

Gary Morrone, 66, of Watertown now faces new counts of criminally negligent homicide and reckless boating following the death of his friend, 38-year-old Wanda Tirado of Waterbury.

Tirado was killed after being struck by the propeller of Morrone's boat on Candlewood Lake.

The new charges were filed after police found what they call "glaring inconsistencies" in Morrone's statements after the incident.
