Fairfield community holds open skate fundraiser for sick child

Skaters came out to Fairfield to raise money for a young member of their community.
An open skate was held at Fairfield County Day School's ice rink in honor of Charlie Capalbo.
Capalbo is undergoing chemotherapy at Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, where he and his family will be living for the next six months.
Those who came out played hockey and enjoyed the ice after making a donation to help with Capalbo's medical finances.
The Fairfield County Day School's athletic director says the support speaks a lot about the Fairfield community.
The local hockey team, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, will also be holding a Capalbo Strong Night on Feb. 23, where a portion of the proceeds will go to the family.
