STAMFORD -

Stamford police helped to rescue an 80-year-old man from the icy waters at the TGM Anchor Marina.

Officers say the Waterbury resident was pulled out of the water within three minutes of falling in on Saturday.

They removed some of his wet clothing and kept him warm until Stamford EMS got there.

The victim told first responders he was tending to his boat when he slipped and fell in.

He is recovering at Stamford Hospital.
