Sports gala raises money for first responders battling cancer
A sports gala was held to raise money for Connecticut first responders who are battling cancer. 
St. Vincent's SWIM Across the Sound hosted its Annual Sports Gala Wednesday night in New Haven.
Money goes to support first responders including correction officers, EMS personnel and public safety dispatchers battling cancer.
Retired NFL player and cancer survivor Merril Hodge was also in attendance at the gala.
