A brain tumor survivor is using her second chance at life to give others with disabilities an opportunity to express themselves through dance.
Zazel O’Garra started her dance company about five years ago, saying she wanted to give back.
The 16-year brain tumor survivor says she was partially paralyzed, with speech impairments and paralysis of her right side.
“I woke up one morning and my right thumb started to move, and I tell you when you see your thumb move that is something else,” says O’Garra.
She says her experience inspired her to help others.
“I always tell people don't compete with your old self and I always say it's about turning a setback into comebacks,” says O’Garra.
