Vietnam vets honored during ceremony in Danbury
Vietnam veterans were honored Friday in Danbury for Vietnam War Veterans Day.
The memorial service was held at Rogers Park in Danbury and included a 21-gun salute, along with the reading of the names of the 47 people from the greater Danbury area killed in the line of duty or missing in action during the Vietnam War.
Organizers say three quarters of the Danbury VFW's veterans served in the Vietnam War.
Sen. Richard Blumenthal says he will once again push for legislation that would give those who served off the coast of Vietnam the same benefits for exposure to Agent Orange as those who served on Vietnam territory.
