Police: Darien High School student charged after sharing picture of gun

DARIEN -

A Darien High School student is facing charges over a picture of a gun that circulated around school.

Police say they were called after two students expressed concern over the picture that started circulating around school.

Investigators talked to the student and parent and determined the gun in the picture was actually a BB gun, and the picture was intended for just a small group of friends.

Police say there was never any threat made or implied, but because of the alarm caused by the picture, a juvenile count of breach of peace was filed against the student.
