Westport business hosts osprey education event after nest platform removed

Posted: Updated:
WESTPORT -

An osprey education event was held in Westport after construction workers removed a nesting platform from a business plaza.

The event was held Tuesday night at Terrain.

Terrain, a home improvement store located on the Post Road East, was the center of controversy last week when construction workers performing work in the plaza, removed a platform supporting an osprey nest.

The nest was eventually put back after public outcry.

Officials say the goal of the event is to spread some awareness and facts about the birds and to prevent a nest from being removed in the future.
