Johnny's Record Store customers celebrate Record Store Day

Saturday is the perfect day to dust off those vinyls and appreciate the value of old records - because it's Record Store Day!
Record Store Day started back 2007 when independent record store owners and employees got together to discuss the future of the industry they thought was dying. The day aims to shine a spotlight on record stores and encourage their popularity.
Johnny's Record Store has been a Darien staple for 45 years. The owner says every year on Record Store Day, sales spike and there's usually a line to get in. The day includes exclusive releases and sales of records in limited stock.
About 11 years ago, shoppers could see about 12 limited releases. Now, there's up to 400.
The owner says records and turntables get bigger and more popular every year. That gives him hope for the future of the industry.
