Man accused of dumping decapitated chickens, pigeon on Westport lawn

Police have arrested a man they say has been leaving decapitated chickens on the front lawn of a Westport home.
Ajamu Obataiye, 48, is from New York City. Police say he has no apparent connection to the homeowners.
The homeowners did not want to give their names but told News 12 that they thought it was a joke the first time it happened.
When it continued, they got concerned and installed security cameras.
"They were able to observe the suspect running away from the scene in the most recent incident, called us immediately and one of our officers located him at the train station," says Lt. Jillian Cabana.
On Friday night, officials say Obataiye left a bag on the lawn of the home with two decapitated chickens and a white pigeon inside.
Obataiye is charged with animal cruelty, illegal dumping and breach of peace.
Police are still trying to figure out a motive.
Obataiye posted bond and is set to be arraigned in court on April 23.
