When it comes to making eco-friendly changes there are small steps that, if we all take, can really add up to make a difference. News 12's Elizabeth Hashagen breaks down the numbers thanks to the Natural Resources Defense Council in part 4 of the Go Green series.
If every household in the United States replaced just one box of virgin fiber facial tissues with 100% recycled ones, we could save 163,000 trees.
If every household in the United States replaced just one roll of virgin fiber toilet paper with 100% recycled ones, we could save 423,900 trees.
If every household in the United States replaced just one roll of virgin fiber paper towels with 100% recycled ones, we could save 544,000 trees.
If every household in the United States replaced just one package of virgin fiber napkins with 100% recycled ones, we could save 1 million trees.
Recycled paper products use half the water and emit half the hazardous air pollutants.
