East Brunswick PD: Reports of an attempted luring were a misunderstanding
Reports of an attempted luring in East Brunswick were simply a misunderstanding, according to police.
Police originally put out a report that an unknown driver tried to get a 12-year-old boy to come to his pick-up truck Wednesday afternoon at a school bus stop near Arthur and Willow streets.
The boy told News 12 New Jersey that the driver called out to him, which caused the boy to run away in fear.
But East Brunswick police now say that there wasn’t any criminal activity involved.
“The investigation revealed the suspect in question is a family friend and the incident has been deemed a misunderstanding,” police said in a statement.
Reports of the incident had parents on edge and police even increased patrols in the area before it was found that no crime had been committed.
