Worker killed performing barn restoration identified

Police have identified the man killed after a barn collapsed on top of him Thursday morning.
State police say Joister Pacheco-Attaide, 38 of Danbury, was one of two men working on the 19th-century building when it fell. The second man escaped without injury.
Police say one trooper happened to be near the scene when he heard the crash.
Bethany officials say reports of the company not having proper permits for the job turned out not to be true. The company did have authorization for the work.
Editor's note: An earlier version of this story stated that the renovation was an unlicensed project.  This was incorrect information that was provided to News 12 Connecticut.  The story has since been updated to reflect that the project was licensed.
