Single mom with stage 4 cancer asks community for help

BRIDGEPORT -

A Bridgeport woman battling stage 4 cancer spoke with News 12 about her fight to survive as her way of honoring National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.

Isis Wright, a 30-year-old single mother, is determined to stay positive even though she has rectal cancer. It's now spread to her liver and lungs, forcing Wright into a difficult treatment routine that includes radiation and chemotherapy.

Wright says she has always loved working, but has not been able to due to the cancer. Even though she does receive state benefits, making ends meet while fighting for her life has been nearly impossible.

Her friends and family have started a GoFundMe campaign to help Wright and her 11-year-old daughter get by.

Wright says she quickly forced herself to focus on her faith and be grateful for the blessings that surround her.

"Some good days, some bad days – but I just pray that it all goes away," she says.
