Residents gathered together on Mother's Day to support a Bridgeport mom whose son died Friday.

Breonda Greene says she is grateful for the outpouring of support following the death of her 3-month-old son Ethan.

"He was a crybaby, but he smiled all the time," Greene says. "He laughed and smiled all the time -- all the time."

Greene says her son died suddenly and unexpectedly.

"Her strength and courage as a mom should give us the courage and strength to try and make the world better for moms and their children," says Sen. Richard Blumenthal.

The cause of death is still under investigation but police say they do not suspect any wrongdoing saying, the cause appears to be "medical in nature."

Supporters are encouraging the public to contribute to a fund the family had set up to pay for the child's funeral.
