Stamford-based Americares is packaging emergency kits to distribute across areas during the upcoming hurricane season.
About 40 employees from Voya Financial put together 1,500 emergency kits at Americares headquarters Thursday.
The kits contain essential hygiene items including soap, shampoo, toothpaste and washcloths.
Americares kits are often the first relief supplies given to those impacted by weather emergencies, organizers say.
