A Rutgers University student's Twitter post about his late father has gone viral.
Anthony Brown is a senior at Rutgers Business School and is set to graduate next Wednesday with a degree in finance. He says his journey there did not come without struggles.
"I've lost two friends. I've lost my grandfather. I've lost my father," says Brown.
Brown's father died three years ago, and he is the reason that Brown will walk across the stage in a cap and gown.
"He basically put me through school being a janitor. I was able to receive free tuition," says Brown.
Brown posted a photo on Twitter thanking his father for getting him to graduation. The post went viral, with hundreds of replies and some sharing similar stories.
"I didn't get 58,000 likes on a photo, my dad did. So without him none of this would've ever been possible," says Brown. "A janitor did that. Not the CEO of a company. Not somebody that made $1 million. It was just an average person…I didn't know it back then, but I could definitely say he was my hero."
Brown will be starting his career in finance working for his home city of Newark. His first day of work is just one day after his father's birthday.
