LI rallies protest stringent abortion laws in Alabama, Missouri

Reproductive rights advocates on Long Island rallied Monday against anti-abortion laws that have been gaining ground around the U.S.
Dozens showed up for a demonstration in downtown Huntington. A similar rally was held in Port Jefferson Station.
Dr. Eve Krief, a pediatrician in Huntington, is pro-choice and says she believes in safe, affordable reproductive health care for women. She says the recent laws in Alabama and Missouri left her in shock.
Even though there are no proposals in New York to restrict abortions, Krief and others say they feel their reproductive rights are being attacked.
But not everyone agrees.
Pastor Joni Lupus, president of March for Life New York, and her husband Jim held a fundraiser Saturday in Bay Shore, raising money for the group's upcoming rally next month in Albany.
