RIDGEFIELD -

Ridgefield High School received a threat Thursday, prompting administrators to dismiss classes early, officials say.

The message for dismissal is posted on the school's website and read, "This morning, Ridgefield High School received a written threat.  Administration and Police responded immediately.  Out of an abundance of caution, we are dismissing RHS at 9:30am.”

School officials did not say what kind of threat the school received.

They say the dismissal and the threat does not affect Scott’s Ridge Middle School.

They say they are investigating the incident.
