Parents accused of child abuse return to court

Two parents facing charges related to claims of child abuse went before a judge Tuesday.
Daniel Perez, 33, faced a judge for an update on the mental health and substance abuse treatment ordered after his arrest on child abuse-related charges.
His wife, 33-year-old Allesandra Sillo, did the same. The judge reminded the couple to obey a protective order to not have any contact with their children.
Police say the couple's Milford home was condemned after officials found animal feces, nails coming through the floor and no running water inside.
Neighbors say they saw the two young boys playing on the roof. The children are now in the care of the Department of Children and Families.
Police responded to the home last month after receiving reports of a live video on YouTube depicting child abuse.
The arrest warrant says the video depicted Perez screaming at his children about making a mess. Police say Perez said, "I'm going to throw you out the [expletive] window if you don't shut the [expletive] up."
The couple is also facing criminal charges for allegedly taking their children to Rhode Island in an effort to avoid police. They are due back in court next month.
