Final phase of I-95 bridge replacement begins

Posted: Updated:
STAMFORD -

The weekend detour for Route 1 bridge construction began Friday evening, leading off a weekend of anticipated traffic impacts.

I-95 in Stamford is being reduced to two lanes for the second weekend in a row as the final phase of the Route 1 bridge construction comes to an end.

All ramps off I-95's Exit 9 will be closed, and motorists will be detoured.

Officials say the bridge at Exit 9 on I-95 will be replaced completely by Monday.

Route 1 is closed between Courtland and Seaside avenues.

Motorists should expect delays. Officials advise avoiding the area if possible.
