Report: Long Island man becomes 11th American tourist to die in Dominican Republic

A man from Long Island has become the 11 American tourist to die in the Dominican Republic, and relatives today expect the results of his autopsy.
According to reports from our partners at News 12 Long Island, Vittorio Caruso, 56, had just sold his pizzeria and went to the Dominican Republic to begin his retirement.
Caruso was healthy until he suddenly went into respiratory arrest and died one week ago -- reportedly after "drinking something."
Stephen Abbondandolo knew Caruso, and said, "It was really sad, he was a great guy. If you needed anything, he'd always help you out."

Meanwhile, the Hard Rock Hotel announced they are removing all liquor dispensers from minibars in the Dominican Republic due to fears the deaths may be linked to liquor.
