BRIDGEPORT -

A Bridgeport detective was struck by a stolen car during a traffic stop and an officer fired shots, police say.

The incident happened near 915 Pembroke St. around 1:37 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say they stopped a stolen car when a narcotics officer fired his gun because he felt threatened for his life, police say.

No one was struck by the gunfire, but at least one officer was hit by the stolen car as the suspects inside attempted to run away from the scene.

At least one of the five suspects was armed with a gun.

All of the suspects were arrested. Police did not say what charges they are facing.
