Scattered showers, storms sweep across western Connecticut

There is some more storm activity popping up in western Connecticut on this final Sunday of June.
The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for part of Fairfield County until 2:45 p.m. as storms moved through the area. The warning has since expired, but News 12 meteorologists say more storms are possible this afternoon into the evening.

Some storms could bring heavy downpours, gusty winds, lightning or small hail.
It comes after strong storms raked parts of the state on Saturday, bringing damage to places like Westport.
The storms will taper off tonight, and overnight hours will be partly cloudy with temps around 62 degrees.
And expect sunny skies and warm temps with low humidity for the first day of July on Monday.
