Damaging thunderstorms leave path of destruction across Western Connecticut
Western Connecticut saw strong thunderstorms that left a trail of destruction behind.
The storms produced hail, damaging winds and lightening, bringing down several trees in New Canaan.
Trees crashed down on Carter Street Sunday after the storms barreled through the region.
Officials say many roads remain impassable Monday.
Large tree limbs fell across I-95 Sunday afternoon in Westport between Exits 19 and 18 southbound. The tree blocked the left and center lanes but was later removed.
Cellphone video shows hail falling Sunday afternoon in Ridgefield.
People took cover as the strong line of storms moved across the state leaving a trail of damage.
One man was killed by a falling tree limb in Fairfield, police say.
