Fotis Dulos has released a statement the same day as his first televised interview with a New York City station aired.
The interviewed aired on NBC New York on Tuesday.
In a statement, Fotis wrote, "My children are the center of my world. I understand the public's perception of me as a monster, given the little they know about the case, but I trust the system and the process and ask the public to do the same. I believe I have been and will continue to be treated fairly by the criminal justice system. Please keep my children and Jennifer in your thoughts."
Fotis Dulos and his girlfriend Michelle Troconis are charged with hindering prosecution and tampering evidence in the investigation into his estranged wife Jennifer Dulos' disappearance. Police say both Fotis and Troconis were caught on video throwing away evidence containing Jennifer's blood inside trash cans in Hartford.
Jennifer Dulos has been missing since May 24.
