1 dead, 5 injured in Easton head-on SUV crash
A person is dead and five others are injured following a head-on crash on the Easton-Monroe border Sunday evening.
Police say the crash happened on Route 59 around 5:30 p.m.
Officials say two SUVs collided head-on leaving six people trapped inside, needing to be pulled from both vehicles – among those were three children.
The driver of one of the SUVs died on the scene. The others were taken to the hospital and are expected to be OK.
"I think there must have been a good half a dozen vehicles, not counting the emergency vehicles, but just people responding and trying to help,” says BJ Blair, of Easton.

Police were on the scene for several hours collecting evidence for an investigation that remains underway about just what caused the cars to collide.
Police are not releasing the victim’s name at this time.
