Posted: Updated:
FAIRFIELD COUNTY -

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for parts of Fairfield County as heavy rain drenches the coastline.

The warning will remain in effect until 7 a.m.

A round of severe thunderstorms barreled through the region Monday night and left behind flooding in some low-lying areas.

Several roads and bridges remain closed as a result of the heavy rain, officials say.
