Students take part in triathlon to remember 7-year-old killed in Sandy Hook mass shooting

SOUTHINGTON -

Hundreds of children across the state are competing in the annual Race4Chase Triathlon in Southington today.

The event is held in honor of Chase Kowalski, a 7-year-old, who was slayed in the Sandy Hook mass shooting.

Kowalski completed his first youth triathlon just months before he was killed.

The Race4Chase program has expanded to states like Rhode Island, South Carolina and Washington D.C.

It is organized by Kowalski's family.
