A Stamford organization is helping children get ready to go back to school with the help of some young volunteers.
Kids put together mini totes and backpacks full of supplies for students getting ready for the new school year.
It's part of the Smiles for School project put together by Kids Helping Kids.
The organization provides services for children in the area whose families may not be able to afford the supplies.
Volunteers say it feels great helping others.
"It just gives you a warm feeling inside to know that you're helping others that may not have the same opportunity as you," says Kennedy Ferdinand.
This was the fifth year the project has run. Organizers say they hope to do it for many more years.
