A bicyclist says he is very lucky after he crashed into a giant black bear in Weston last week.
Authorities say the bear was on Valley Forge Road eating berries when a cyclist came up, hit the bear and went flying over the handlebars.
Jim Triano walked away with just a broken finger and some road rash. His high-performance bike wasn't so lucky.
The stretch of Valley Forge Road is popular with cyclists, but it's remote. After the crash, Triano struggled to find help.
The bear ran back into the woods.

As for Triano, the crash happened the day after his birthday and he considers himself very lucky.
"People said, 'Holy cow, at least the bear didn't come at you.' And God forbid it had, because I was not in any condition to fend off a several hundred-pound black bear," Triano said.
It is not clear if the bear was hurt.
