A man jumped off of an overpass in Trumbull and suffered serious injuries, police say.

The incident happened Sunday at the Daniels Farm Road Route 25 overpass around 8:20 p.m.

Police say they received multiple 911 calls from residents who told them a man was sitting on the overpass fence.

When police arrived, they say the 64-year-old man jumped off the overpass and into the southbound side of Route 25.

He was transported to Bridgeport Hospital where he suffered serious injuries and was listed in critical condition.

Trumbull police say they are currently investigating the incident as a suicide attempt and were assisted by the Connecticut State Police.
