Police search scene of alleged assault at Stamford home

Posted: Updated:

Police say they are searching for evidence of a reported assault at a Stamford home.

Officers say they responded Thursday night to a report of an assault between the homeowner and a house guest at 12 Longview Ave. off High Ridge Road. They say they came back to continue the investigation Friday. Animal control also was at the scene.

Once police arrived at the home, they say they were approached by a man with two aggressive German shepherds. They say they believe the homeowner is Russian and that there was a language barrier so they needed to get officer who could speak with him.

Police say once the man was cooperative, they executed a search warrant for any physical evidence.

They say they have not made any arrests and are not expecting to release any more details in the case yet.
