Pediatric doctor: Influx of students get physicals done at end of summer

A doctor says that she sees an influx of students come in at the end of the summer to get their physical required by the Department of Education in order to begin the school year.
Dr. Aniqa Anwar, a pediatrician at the Center for Advanced Pediatrics, says that they first like to check and see if the child is up to date on their vaccinations.
She says they'll next check the height, weight and growth of the child along with vision and hearing.
Ken Goldberg, the owner of AFC Urgent Care, says while making an appointment for your child's physical is important, he understands parents may have to wait until the last minute.
He says the urgent care performs multiple physicals every day in the month of August. Goldberg also says it's important the child has their own pediatrician, but the urgent care is happy to act as an additional resource.
Doctors encourage children to wear sun protection, to check for ticks and to wash your hands constantly.
