Bridgeport man allegedly shoots girlfriend, himself

Bridgeport police say an apparent case of domestic violence left one man dead and sent a woman to the hospital.
Police say 28-year-old Jovan Boyed shot his ex-girlfriend as they sat in a car together on Gilman Street around 8:30 Sunday night.
The woman was able to drive herself to police headquarters to report the shooting before being taken to the hospital.
Authorities say they tracked Boyed to a home on Pacific Street. Boyed refused to come out despite several hours of negotiations.
Boyed was eventually found dead of an apparent self-inflected gun wound, according to police.
News 12 is told a second woman and a child were inside the car during the initial accident, but they were not hurt.
