Nearly 2,000 Red Cross volunteers, including 30 from Connecticut, are headed south to help those affected by Hurricane Dorian.
Red Cross Senior Director Ivette Ruiz says her Connecticut volunteers are ready to deploy and are trained to launch emergency vehicles that will help assist those in need.
“We don’t know what Dorian is going to do,” says Ruiz. “Dorian has been very unpredictable…we are preparing for the worst and hoping for the best.”
Anyone who wishes to make a donation or would like to volunteer can do so at the Red Cross website.
