Residents hit the docks to celebrate the 42nd annual Oyster Festival at Veteran's Memorial Park Saturday.
This year, the Norwalk Seaport Association's main mission is to raise money for the preservation of Sheffield Island Lighthouse, a popular tourist attraction located a ferry ride away in the Norwalk Islands.
There are over 1,000 volunteers who help make the annual Oyster Festival possible.
Vincent Scicchitano was born and raised in Norwalk and has been involved with the Seaport Association for 15 years.
"I think my favorite part about the festival isn't about what's here, it's about the people that come," he said. "I think it's a big community event and it's a great place to come down and see everyone from Norwalk that comes down and people from the surrounding communities."
This year's event included a craft beer tent, a plethora of food trucks, booths, carnival rides, and of course, oysters.
The event will continue all day Sunday.
