New Milford officials announce plan to combat opioid epidemic

New Milford officials have announced a plan to combat the opioid epidemic.

The mayor and police chief say they'll continue going after drug dealers and push for prosecution.

They say services and resources will be provided to addicts and their families.

The town says it'll increase its work with local groups to educate residents on recognizing addiction.

Officials have asked federal lawmakers for help with funding.
