A plea deal deadline has been given to a former animal rescue president charged in the deaths of five dogs.
A judge gave Heidi Lueders a month to decide if she would take a plea deal or go to trial.
Details weren't disclosed, but News 12 is told the plea deal includes jail time.
Fairfield police discovered five dead pit bulls in their cages inside Lueders' home last November.
Lueders is the former president of the animal rescue group Bully Breed.
