Several swastikas and anti-Semitic messages were discovered at Staples High School, the interim superintendent says.
The discovery was made Thursday night after someone noticed a swastika carved in a door of a bathroom stall at the school.
Westport police were called to the school and discovered several other swastikas in locations around the school.
Stars of David were found in one location where an expletive was also found.
Interim Superintendent David Abbey sent a message out to parents Thursday after the discovery and wrote "We take these acts seriously and are actively partnering with the Westport Police Department as we move forward with the investigation."
Abbey says the symbols were removed and the school will continue to work to create a climate where all are welcomed and valued.
