Arrest made in Bridgeport summer murder

Bridgeport police have made an arrest in the murder of a Stamford native who was killed over the summer.
Eugene Brown, of Bridgeport, faces murder and gun charges, and is accused of turning a home on Bishop Avenue into a crime scene on June 24. Police say 40-year-old Anthony McKinstry was lured there early in the morning and shot in the head. A motive hasn't been released.
April Barron, a family friend, says McKinstry is from Stamford and moved to North Carolina a couple years ago. He was back in Connecticut visiting when he was killed.
"I can't bring back Anthony, but I can bring justice to his family," said Bridgeport Police Chief A.J. Perez. "And therefore I take great, great pride in the fact our department was able to solve this crime in such a quick manner.
Brown, 35, is being held on a $1 million bond.
McKinstry was the ninth homicide victim in Bridgeport this year. The city has seen five more since then.
