Autopsy performed, but still no ID for body found in Stamford waters

An autopsy was performed Thursday on the man found dead in the water off Cummings Park Marina earlier this week – yet his identity and cause of death has not yet been determined.
Police were first called to the area around 5 p.m. Tuesday after a boater discovered the floating body. It's not known where the body originated or how long it was in the water. There were no obvious signs of trauma. Investigators are waiting for toxicology tests to come back.
Police say he does not match any missing persons cases in Stamford.
The man's description was posted on the Stamford Police Department Facebook page and has been entered into the National Crime Information Center Database – so other jurisdictions can compare it to their open missing persons cases.

“Most of the time, what will happen is we'll get a contact from another police department or jurisdiction where this gentleman may have been reported missing and then we'll make the ID that way,” says Sgt. Sean Boeger.
Police are urging anyone with information to call them at (203) 977-4417.
