Stamford police are searching for the person who shot and killed a 39-year-old man last night at the Southwood Square Apartments.
Police received several reports of a shooting at the complex around 11 p.m. That’s where they found Torrick Johnson lying on the ground with multiple bullet wounds behind 108 Montauk Drive.
First responders rushed him to Stamford Hospital, where he later died.

Lt. Michael Noto says a “disagreement between a large group of people” led to the shooting.
“Our victim was targeted. It wasn't random,” he says.
Noto also says they have a person of interest they’re "looking to talk to” and asked for the public to call in with information about the case.
Family and friends told News 12 that Johnson was born and raised in Stamford and had a big heart. He was currently living in Bridgeport but had relatives at Southwood Square.
Police are urging anyone with information about the shooting to call the Bureau of Criminal Investigation at 203-977-4420.
Police say another shooting victim arrived at the emergency room who had been shot three times. They don’t believe that shooting is related to the Southwood Square Apartments investigation.
