Alex Jones, a right-wing conspiracy theorist, was inside Connecticut Supreme Court Thursday for an appeal hearing stemming from his case with Sandy Hook families.
News 12 reported that Sandy Hook families are suing Jones over conspiracy theories he spread saying that the Newtown shooting that killed 26 students and faculty never took place.
As part of the suit, Jones turned over 58,000 emails. The FBI says 12 of them contained unopened links to child pornography.
Jones says Sandy Hook lawyers are trying to frame him. He offered $1 million during his radio show over the summer to anyone that can find out where the files came from.
Days later, a Bridgeport judge called those comments "despicable" and slapped Jones with sanctions, including stripping him of the right to ask for a dismissal of the Sandy Hook families' libel case against him.
Jones’ attorney Norm Pattis called the sanctions “an attempt to silence speech.”
News 12’s John Craven reported that the state Supreme Court would not make a ruling today. It could be weeks or months before one comes down.
