NYT: Anguilla hotel worker had lethal level of cocaine in system when he died

Posted: Updated:

A new report suggests drugs may have played a lead role in the death of a hotel worker who died during a confrontation with a Darien father on vacation.

The New York Times says it has obtained the report of an updated autopsy performed on Kenny Mitchel.

The report suggests Mitchel had a lethal level of cocaine in his system when he came to Scott Hapgood's hotel room at a resort on the island of Anguilla.

Hapgood is charged with Mitchel's death and has flown back and forth from Darien multiple times for court hearings.

Neither Hapgood's attorney nor the prosecution have commented on The New York Times report.
