Police: Man arrested for string of commercial burglaries in Fairfield

Police say a man has been arrested in connection to a string of burglaries at Fairfield businesses.
They say 28-year-old Juan Carlos Rax, of Bridgeport, broke into The Castle on Post on the Post Road through a window around 3 a.m. Saturday.
The owner says Rax got away with the cash register drawer and a few hundred dollars’ worth of food. He says what the suspect got away with can be replaced, and he's thankful his workers were not hurt.
Police say the suspect then tried to break into Luigi's, an Italian restaurant next door. They say the alarm went off, and Rax took off.
A perimeter was set up and police brought in a K-9. The K-9 found Rax under a work van.
He was taken into custody and charged for the two incidents.
Police say Rax also admitted to committing burglaries at two other restaurants in the area over the past few weeks. Officials say he'll face charges for those incidents.
Police say Rax is being held on $50,000 bond.
