A police chase involving a BMW ended with a crash in Fairfield near Rio Bravo Mexican Restaurant, police say.

The incident happened Tuesday on Fairfield Avenue around 3:30 p.m.

Police say officers began to pursue a dark-colored BMW near Railroad Avenue in Bridgeport.

They say the operator lead police to Fairfield where the car hit a curb and crashed on Kings Highway in front of Rio Bravo Mexican Restaurant.

The suspect ran away toward the Best Western after the crash, police say.

Police say no one was injured, and the suspect was later arrested on I-95 by the Exit 24 northbound ramp where he attempted to flag down a motorist and jump inside of their car.

Fairfield police say the driver may have been wanted for narcotics charges in Bridgeport.

Fairfield police assisted in locating the suspect, and state police were also notified, but the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

A Fairfield K-9 police dog was brought in to inspect the car, and police say they found drugs inside.
