A water main break flooded the yards of homes on High Ridge Road in Stamford Wednesday and left more than a dozen residents without water, officials say.

The 24 inch water main break happened on High Ridge Road near High Clear Drive in Stamford around 5 a.m. and was shut off around 7:30 a.m., officials say.

Aquarion water service crews responded to the scene to repair the break, officials with the Turn of River volunteer fire department say.

About 25 customers are affected as a result of the break. At least two yards were flooded due to the water main break.
