Private investigator says Peter Recchia was seen 2 weeks ago

A private investigator says that Peter Recchia, the missing brother of News 12's Frank Recchia, was seen two weeks ago.

Frank Recchia and his family held a news conference in Bridgeport Sunday to share the findings of a private investigator who's been searching for Peter Recchia. He has been missing for a month.

Mark Schachter of Investigative Consultants LLC says he's been searching key areas in New Haven close to where Peter Recchia was last spotted and pouring over surveillance video.

The family says Peter Recchia has mental health issues and vanished after walking to New Haven from his home in Middletown.

Schachter says Peter Recchia was spotted there two weeks ago at the Good Will store on State Street.

"I spoke to three people that are employees at Goodwill, showed them the picture and they pretty much verified he has been in Goodwill on numerous occasions," said Schachter.

Sen. Richard Blumenthal is encouraging the public to report any sightings to local police.
